FRIDAY EVENING QUIET TIME    •    Quiet Time is 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Event Organizer may establish a different time due to entertainment, bands, etc.     •    You must have security on site during the duration of your contest. Quiet time rules & regulations must be explained to your security personnel so they may enforce them. (They should have the authority to eject violators or to reach whoever is in charge and can do so. This is not the responsibility of the KCBS Contest Representatives (mandatory for teams to attend).

SATURDAY OF THE

EVENT (BASED ON A TYPICAL SATURDAY CONTEST)     •    Judging area set up and supplies in place.     •    Trophies, ribbons, awards on site.     •    Sound system working.     •    Awareness of media. 
SATURDAY- 1 HOUR BEFORE JUDGING BEGINS – JUDGES MEETING     •    Check in judges as they arrive on site (one volunteer required) Judges may be required to show proof of CBJ status if not verified prior to judging, or sign the Judge Verification Form if unable to do so.     •    Welcome them at Judges Meeting.     •    Introduce KCBS Contest Representatives.     •    KCBS Representatives play the Judge’s CD, Table Captain’s CD, and coordinate activities in the 
Judging area.

Below are typical judging times. Times may be changed but the order of the meats may not be changed. 

Saturday 11:55 A.M.—12:05 PM 
Chicken category is turned in and judging begins. 

Saturday 12:25 PM—12:35 PM 
Pork Rib category is turned in and judging begins. 

Saturday 1:55 PM—1:05 PM 
Pork Butt category is turned in and judging begins. 

Saturday 1:25 PM—1:35 PM 
Brisket category is turned in and judging begins. 

Saturday 11:00 PM-3:00 PM 
Prepare checks and trophies.
